Abstract
Wireless sensor networks consist of mobile nodes which collect and provide data about specific applications in the area of deployment. However, their mobility and the constantly changing topology cause packet loss during communication. Mobility-Based Algorithm (MBA) for wireless sensor networks with mobile nodes facilitates the successful delivery of packets while targeting low energy consumption and less control overhead messages. The MBA clustering have achieved less overhead messages and less energy utilization and maximum packet delivery even at the rate of high mobility environment. MBA clustering showed improved performance over Mobility Based Clustering (MBC) Protocol, Custer Based Routing (CBR) protocol and the low energy adaptive clustering hierarchy-mobile protocol (LEACH). Simulations are done with ns-2 with all the above said algorithms and protocols; MBA clustering outperforms other protocols in terms of energy consumption, convergence time, and average control overhead. © Research India Publications.
