Abstract
In this paper, a simple control scheme is proposed for the integrating first order process with time delay (IFOPTD) with inverse response. The proposed control scheme comprises of a PID controller in series a with lead/lag filter. The controller follows the design steps that hold the polynomial approach and the analytical tuning rules based on maximum sensitivity. Robustness studies on the system performance concerning the uncertainties in the parameters of process. In the proposed control scheme, only one parameter is needed to be tuned with which a better control in terms of nominal and robust performances are obtained. The proposed method is implemented fro benchmarking problems in the literature studied by researchers.
