Reusable acidic nickel oxide nanoparticles have been synthesized, characterized and applied as a catalyst to convert 2-aminoaryl ketones and β-ketoesters/ketones into the corresponding quinolines in good yields with high selectivity. Abstract: This study explores a green methodology for the synthesis of polysubstituted quinolines through Friedländer annulation using water as a solvent. To evaluate the viability of this methodology, results obtained were compared with methods involving the usage of energy, such as mechanical stirring, heating, microwave irradiation, and solvent free heating reaction. To demonstrate the efficiency and consistency of this method, a bulk batch reaction has been performed using this protocol and many quinoline derivatives have been synthesised and characterised by 1H, 13C NMR, melting range, and HR-MS. Synthesis and characterization of new 3-(4,5-dihydro-5-aryl)isoxazol-3-yl)-4-hydroxyquinolin-2(1H)-ones and 3-(4-styryl)isoxazolo[4,5-c]quinolin-4(5H)-one derivatives

Reaction of substituted 2,4-dichloroquinolines with bisphenol A in the presence of K2CO3 leads to novel bis(2-chloroquinolines) with high regioselectivity. All the synthesized compounds were characterized by use of spectral data. In the mol-ecular structure of the title compound, C22H 27NO6, the dihydropyridine ring adopts a flattened boat conformation while the cyclohexenone ring is in an envelope conformation. In the crystal, molecules stack parallel to the crystallographic a axis linked by intermolecular N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
