An unconventional technique for one-dimensional Beam Forming using hybrid arrays is presented. This method is implemented with multiple mode array using Fourier synthesis and shows the significant improvement compared to conventional array. The 9-elements half wave dipole array is effectively used for comparison of multimode. The multiple mode array of 10 modes is effective implementation of the conventional 9-element array. Further, the 10 mode is implemented in various hybrid array arrangements. The tradeoff between the multiple mode array and hybrid array is investigated to show the optimum realization of the multiple mode array with the 5×2 hybrid array. © 2019 IEEE.
