Abstract
Variation of sugar level is one of the important complication detected in post-operative condition that needs to be maintained, which can be achieved by infusing the drug to the human body. In many cases the glucose variation will lead to Hypoglycemia, to overcome this issue the automatic control system is implemented to improve the patient preservation in emergency condition. Based on the observations the researchers focused various studies on control and modelling of the artificial blood glucose management system in critical care patients. This paper compacts a detailed assessment and performance of Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller and internal Model Control (IMC) strategy, which controls blood Glucose in Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM). The control variables are optimized and tuning parameters are found by Genetic Algorithm. The resulting controller's output are tested and compared based on the insulin models, with the optimal infusion rate at desired level. © 2017 IEEE.
