Abstract
Noise pollution has become one of the major industrial problems, which have adverse effect on living beings. Higher noise levels cause health hazards and interference in communication. Continued exposure to high noise levels results in lack of concentration, annoyance, temporary shift of hearing threshold etc., Some measures are to be taken to control or reduce the noise that reaches the human ear. This paper discusses about the concept of noise, its source i.e. machinery installed and how to prevent the noise generated by machines from polluting the industrial environment.
