The role of readers is a matter widely discussed in the recent history of literature. This paper attempts to analyse different reviews on Kamala Das’s My story and tries to discuss how there are different layers of meaning created through different readers according to their reading background, socio-political background and many other factors. This paper therefore is a review of interpretations done on Das’s my story for the better understanding of the text as well as for to analyse the importance of multiple perspective in bringing out different stratums of meaning. © Research India Publications.
