In this paper, the various topologies of single phase inverters such as conventional square wave inverter, modified square wave inverter and cascaded multilevel inverter are analyzed in terms of Total Harmonics Distortion (THD). The suppression of low order harmonics by controlling the delay angle and duty cycle of the switching pulses are also carried out.The simulation study is done with Matlab/Simulink Tool and hardware is done by using Lab-view for generating switching pulses and to analyze the harmonics in the outputs of the inverter. © Research India Publications.
