Abstract
This paper proposes a space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) technique for a three-phase three-level neutral point clamped (NPC) inverter which is used in a photovoltaic system. The system comprises a photovoltaic array, DC/DC converter, DC/AC inverter and load. The SVPWM can very much increase the obtainable DC voltage utilization ratio and a better total harmonic distortion (THD) factor as compared to other pulse width modulation techniques. Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique is utilized to obtain a suitable buck and boost, high efficiency and minimum ripple voltage necessary for residential power production applications, grid / standalone or any other system. The proposed method is simulated using MATLAB/simulink. Experiments using LabVIEW DAQ card validate the simulation results. © 2012 Praise Worthy Prize S.r.l. - All rights reserved.
