Ru/Ni(OH)2 composite, prepared by simple wetness impregnation method, has demonstrated highly efficient alcohol oxidation reaction in the presence of molecular oxygen at T = 363 K with good selectivity (>99%) and excellent reaction yield (TOF ∼ 132 h-1). © 2009 The Royal Society of Chemistry.
