Abstract
In this paper, the second order slip flow and heat transfer of water based nanofluid over a porous stretching/shrinking sheet with internal heat generation/absorption, thermal radiation and temperature jump effects are investigated. The governing nonlinear partial differential equations along with the boundary conditions are first cast into a dimensionless form and then the equations are solved analytically using hyper geometric function and numerically by the fourth order Runge-Kutta method with the shooting technique. A unique solution exist for velocity field in stretching sheet and dual solutions are obtained in shrinking sheet. It is found that the second solution vanishes for the higher values of porosity parameter in shrinking sheet. The effects of various physical parameters on velocity and temperature fields are discussed through graphical illustrations. The numerical and analytical results for skin friction coefficient and reduced Nusselt number are calculated and presented in tables for a Au, Cu, Ag, Al, Al2 O3 and TiO2 nanoparticles. Furthermore, the limiting cases are obtained and are found to be in good agreement with the previously published results. © 2019 by American Scientific Publishers All rights reserved.
