Abstract
This paper proposes sensorless Speed Control of PMSM Drives using Stator Current based MRAC (Model Reference Adaptive Control) Scheme. The PMSM speed & torque can be calculated by using sensors like speed & position sensors. These sensors need extra place & there is a chance of reduction of reliability because of environmental problems and cost of the motor can be increased. So for this reason lot of studies are going on for the speed and position sensors elimination. Here, we need to find out speed without using any sensor which means by using different control method we need to find rotor position. Here, we are using current injection method to find out speed to control the motor. In this method, we will take Stator currents from the motor and we will compare with reference currents to generate pulses to the inverter. In this way, PMSM drives speed control can be done during zero speed operation. © Research India Publications.
