Abstract
This paper presents the voltage control using single phase Switched Inductor Z-source Matrix Converter (SIZMC). The simulation model H-bridge SIZMC controls system voltage during voltage variation. Based on the input and output voltage information, PWM pulse widths are controlled. The feasibility of the proposed method proved though simulation and verified by a prototype model. A single phase ac-ac converter in a matrix arrangement and a series transformer are the components of the model. An ac-ac converter generates power using switching pattern when voltage variation occurs. The series transformer compensates the voltage to the loads. The simulation and hardware result shows the possibility of controlling system voltage when decreases and increases from the normal operating level. © Euro Journals Publishing, Inc. 2012.
