Abstract
The synchronous generators tend to generate oscillations if it is faulted. The oscillations can cause the frequency change in the connected system which may also be disconnected from the grid. To make the synchronous machine stable even under fault conditions many research works have being done. The stability enhancement is the one which reduces the oscillations by controlling the field of the synchronous machines. Since the distributed generations are increasing nowadays, the PMSG is more familiar in offshore wind power generation. When this power is penetrated into the system, there are some problems. Therefore, the entire system needs to maintain stability. For this purpose, SSSC is used more for the stability. This paper also deals with the combination of SG with PMSG connected to infinite bus system and also analyzed for its stability. © 2020, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
