A compact stub loaded hexagonal ring shape antenna using CPW feed is designed and implemented for WLAN/WiMAX/ITU application. Y-Shape stub is loaded inside hexagonal ring to achieve multiband performance with miniaturization. The proposed antenna is highly compact with (20 × 20 × 0.8) mm³ dimension. The impedance bandwidth of the antenna is 3 GHz for both the band respectively from 2.9 to 5.9 GHz and 7 to 10 GHz. The substrate material used is Flame Retardent-4 (FR-4) due to its availability and low cost of fabrication. Relative dielectric constant and substrate thickness of material is 4.4 and 0.8 mm respectively. Ansys HFSS tool is used to optimize the designed parameters and experimental validation is done by Vector Network Analyzer. © 2019 IEEE.

Stub loaded compact hexagonal ring antenna for WLAN/WiMAX/ITU applications

A miniaturized fractal antenna using Coplanar Wave Guide (CPW) fed and ultrawideband (UWB)-artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) for ultra wideband and Active integrated application is designed and presented. This antenna covers frequency range from 2.5 to 10 GHz with ultrabandwidth of 7.5GHz and return loss well below −10 dB over the entire band of application. The antenna has an average gain of 3.35 dB without AMC and 7.7 dBi with UWB-AMC. Physical dimension of the proposed antenna is (27 × 28 mm × 1.6) mm 3 and for UWB-AMC is (40 × 40 × 1.6) mm 3 . Complet set of UWB-antenna and A.MC- is fabricated using FR.-4 substrate with ε r = 4.4, d = 0.0001and thickness (h) = 1.6 mm. Ansys HFSS Tool is used to analyze and optimize the parameters of antenna and UWB-AMC. A Metamaterial Inspired Compact Open Split Ring Resonator Antenna for Multiband Operation

This letter presents design of novel annular ring crescent shape dual band and wideband antennas using T-shape stub for worldwide interoperability for microwave access (Wi-MAX) and wireless local area network (WLAN). These antennas are designed based on annular ring antenna and CPW feed. Dual band ring antenna with truncated ground plane provides a resonance at 3.5 GHz and addition of crescent shape with tuning of T-shape stub provides a second resonance at 5.8 GHz. Ground plane shape is extremely significant for impedance matching. Wide band ring antenna with crescent shape and modified T-shape stub exhibits bandwidth of 6.35 GHz from 4.75 to 11.1 GHz, further study shows that compactness of the antenna makes it suitable for active integrated antenna (AIA) application. Both dual band and wideband compact antennas are fabricated on FR4 substrate with the compact size of 28mm×26:5 mm×1:6mm. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
