A compact stub loaded hexagonal ring shape antenna using CPW feed is designed and implemented for WLAN/WiMAX/ITU application. Y-Shape stub is loaded inside hexagonal ring to achieve multiband performance with miniaturization. The proposed antenna is highly compact with (20 × 20 × 0.8) mm³ dimension. The impedance bandwidth of the antenna is 3 GHz for both the band respectively from 2.9 to 5.9 GHz and 7 to 10 GHz. The substrate material used is Flame Retardent-4 (FR-4) due to its availability and low cost of fabrication. Relative dielectric constant and substrate thickness of material is 4.4 and 0.8 mm respectively. Ansys HFSS tool is used to optimize the designed parameters and experimental validation is done by Vector Network Analyzer. © 2019 IEEE.
