Two different types of catcehol based phosphine oxides arc prepared by the condensation reaction of phenyldichloro phosphine oxide and the corresponding catechol derivatives in the presence of triethylamine. These compounds are used for the preparation of their corresponding LaIII and ThIv complexes. All these products were characterized by spectroscopic data. © 2015 Scientific Publishers.
