The metallization on FDM based plastic materials viz., ABS M30 rapid prototypes were performed by electrode position of nickel-trivalent chromium coatings with enhanced wear, hardness and tensile properties. Hardness values measured by Vickers hardness tested validated the improved mechanical properties. The presence of micro roughness and improved corrosion resistant values signify that the coatings have firmly absorbed on ABS M 30 plastics. The surface morphologies of Ni/Cr3+ coatings were found uniform and analyzed using XRD and XPS studies. © IAEME Publication.
