A series of N-{4-[5-aryl-1-(isonicotinoyl)pyrazol-3-yl]-phenyl}- benzenesulfonamide (3a-e) and 3-(4-benzenesulfonylaminophenyl)-5-aryl-pyrazole- 1-carboxylic acid amide (4a-e) have been synthesized by refluxing N-[4-(2,3-dibromo-3-aryl-propanoyl)-phenyl]-benzenesulfonamide (2a-e) with isonicotinoic acid hydrazide and semicarbazide hydrochloride respectively in pyridine medium. The synthesized compounds were assayed for antibacterial activities against Staphylococcus aureus (gram +ve), Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (gram -ve) and antifungal activities against Aspergillus niger.
