The performance of alternative fuels viz,., diesel (60%) + Turpentine (40%) + acetylene gas (3 LPM) and diesel (30%) Turpentine (70%) + hydrogen gas (18LPM) based on turpentine, acetylene and hydrogen gases admixed with diesel have been systematically analyzed. It was resulted that an approximately 40% of smoke reduction was achieved with the three-fuel mixture concept operation. Three fuel systems have good brake thermal efficiency with less emission of NOx. Ni-P-W coatings on piston parts improved wear and corrosion resistances. The existences of Ni3P in the coating matrix have been justified by XRD and SEM studies. © IAEME Publication.
