Thermogravimetric (TGA) and derivative thermogravimetric (DTG) curves of dioxouranium(VI) acetate with selected pyrazolones viz. 3-methyl-5-pyrazolone (MeP) and 3-methyl-4-nitroso-5-pyrazolone (MNP) are studied and utilizing these curves, the kinetics of thermal decomposition of these two complexes has been studied and parameters like E*, A and ΔS* are computed. It was inferred from the different methods used that E* are sufficiently high and positive while ΔS* are negative.
