This paper deals with the VLSI Architecture of Integer wavelet based on lifting scheme. Firstly the problems faced by conventional transforms and the differences between conventional and wavelet transform is presented. Later the mechanisms of DWT, IWT based on lifting schemes is presented. Then a new efficient VLSI architectures for forward, backward, integrated IWT based on lifting are explained. From the simulation results we can observe that the designed architecture is more efficient in terms of area required for the design. © Research India Publications.
