Lakshmi is currently working as Assistant Professor Senior Grade in the School of Electronics Engineering (SENSE), VIT University, Chennai.

Her aim is “To be a Passionate Teacher and to be in love with a field of knowledge, deeply stirred by issues and ideas that challenge our world, drawn to the dilemmas and potentials of the young people who come into class each day — or captivated by all of these”. She is Honest and Passionate about experimenting things in a unique way. Hard worker, sincere in her work and always determined in achieving her goals.

When she pursued her post graduation itself, she has taken up several classes, tutorial and lab sessions for the undergraduate students. She has completed her Ph.D in Thiagarajar College of Engg., Madurai on February 2020. Her area of research is Semiconductor Device Modeling. Her thirst for research lead to 15 Scopus indexed publications in reputed International Journals like Silicon (Springer), AEU - International Journal of Electronics and Communications (Elsevier), Journal of Microelectronics, Electronic Components and Materials, Journal of Semiconductor Technology And Science (JSTS), Chinese Physics-B, Journal of Optoelectronics and Advanced Materials, Journal of Semiconductors, IEEE, IJAER,etc...She has also participated in more than 17 International Conferences and Symposiums.

Lakshmi has recently received the “BEST TEACHER AWARD” of Electronics and Communication Engineering Department at Jerusalem College of Engineering, Chennai for the academic year 2018 - 2019.

She is also awarded with the “BEST PERFORMER AWARD” in JCE , “BEST OUTGOING STUDENT” of M.E. Communication Systems at Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai for the academic year 2013 - 2015, “SILVER MEDAL” and " MEDAL OF EXCELLENCE" in M.E. Communication Systems at TCE, Madurai during the academic year 2013 - 2015.
