Photovoltaic (PV) energy has increased drastically at an average annual rate of 60% in the last few years. It quickly became an integral part of the power system networks. This increase, in turn, has triggered the evolution of PV power converters with more efficiency and reliability. In this paper, a prototype of the PV integrated controlled converter system is designed, which is applicable in water pumping for irrigation. Main components of this system are floating dual boost converter (FDBC), three-phase voltage source inverter (VSI) and three-phase squirrel cage induction motor (pump). For address the issue of PV voltage fluctuations, a voltage mode controller is designed for the FDBC which regulates the output voltage of the FDBC to a fixed value irrespective of any voltage fluctuations at the PV side. © 2013 IEEE.

Implementation of Designed PV Integrated Controlled Converter System

This paper presents the performance evaluation of a non-isolated high gain DC-DC converter for DC microgrid applications. This converter utilizes two extendable inductor-capacitor-inductor (LCL) networks along with one switched capacitor (SC) network for gain extension. Theoretical gain equation, theoretical values of stress across the semiconductor devices, design procedure of passive elements and efficiency analysis are also included in this paper. The practical voltage gain, voltage burden on the semiconductor devices and experimental efficiency is obtained from a 380V/200W prototype of this converter and presented here. © 2020 IEEE.

Performance Evaluation of a High Gain DC-DC Converter for DC Microgrid Applications

This study presents a family of novel high gain non-isolated hybrid dc-dc converter for dc micro grid application. The proposed family of the converter is developed by employing both inductor-capacitor-inductor (LCL) based switched inductor (SI) and switched capacitor (SC) technique to achieve high voltage gain. Appropriate increase in the number of LCL-based SI cells in the power circuits in order to achieve ultra-high voltage gain allows formulating a generalised structure of the circuit. Incorporation of SI &amp; SC techniques and the structure of the circuit with one stage power transfer ensure high voltage gain at low voltage stress across the switches and diodes. The study includes the principle of operation, steady-state analysis and performance analysis in detail for the converters. Experimental results from the developed hardware prototype of 380 V/250 W validate the adopted concept, design and exemplify that the proposed family of converter operates at a full load efficiency of 94%. © The Institution of Engineering and Technology 2020.

Family of modular, extendable and high gain dc-dc converter with switched inductor and switched capacitor cells

This paper presents the overview and working procedure of dSPACE1103 controller and its applications for power electronics converters. The configuration and control desk parameter settings have been discussed in detail. The pulse width modulation (PWM) for duty cycle control of DC-DC converter and sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) for voltage and frequency control of DC-AC converter using real-time interface (RTI) library blocks in dSPACE and MATLAB simulink blocks in MATLAB simulink environment are presented. The simple blocksets in simulink and RTI library are used to obtain the control signals in order to turn on and turn off the power semiconductor switches in converters. The programming skills and knowledge are not required to generate the control signals. The real-time prototype implementation of DC-DC converter and DC-AC converter in MATLAB with dSPACE controller is presented. Experimental results are provided to enhance the performance of dSPACE controller. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2020.

Dspace1103 controller for pwm control of power electronic converters

This paper presents a dual switch non-isolated high gain DC-DC converter. The proposed converter utilizes both boost switched capacitor structure and buck-boost switched capacitor structure adopted in a quasi-switched-boost structure circuit to offer high voltage gain. The above adoption results a small voltage stress on all the semiconductor devices and reduced conduction loss due to small duty ratio for large voltage conversion ratio applications. A detailed steady state analysis of the converter is presented in this paper. A prototype model of 200V, 100W is also fabricated in laboratory to evaluate and to compare the performance. © 2019 IEEE.

A dual switch non-isolated high gain dc-dc converter

In this paper a non-isolated high gain DC-DC converter which is preferred for photovoltaic (PV) applications is proposed. This converter uses hybrid switched inductor technique to enhance its overall voltage gain. The inductors of the gain extension network are all charged together in parallel and get discharged simultaneously in series to obtain the high voltage gain (&gt;10). Resultantly, the voltage stress experienced by the switches of the proposed converter are reduced to 55% of the desired output voltage. An experimental prototype version of the proposed converter yields the rated voltage gain of 10.8 and delivers 21OW at a maximum efficiency of 94.45% when excited from an input voltage of 35 V. Further, the operating range of the converter is demonstrated by experimental results which are obtained for an output power ranging from 90% to 95% of rated power. © 2019 IEEE.

High Gain DC-DC Converter Based on Hybrid Switched-Inductor Topology for PV Application

This paper deals with a new non-isolated high voltage gain hybrid dc-dc converter for dc micro grid applications. The proposed converter utilizes both the switched inductor (SI) and switched capacitor (SC) technique to attain a high gain. The suggested voltage lifting mechanisms result in reduced voltage stress on switches (about 45% of the output voltage) and diodes. A hardware prototype of 380V/120Watts is developed in laboratory and presented here. Experimental results and a brief comparison with other high gain converters included in the paper, confirms the capability of the proposed converter to provide high voltage gain at very low duty cycle with low voltage stress on switches and diodes used. © 2018 IEEE.

Switched Inductor-Switched Capacitor based high gain hybrid dc-dc converter

This paper presents a single switch non-isolated DC-DC converter with high voltage gain capability for solar photovoltaic (PV) applications. The proposed converter is synthesized from passive switched inductor (SI) and switched capacitor (SC) topologies and integrated with an additional voltage boost capacitor to enhance the voltage gain. Due to the converter structure and adopted gain extension technique, the voltage stress on the switch and three diodes is 50% of the output voltage, while the remaining diodes experience a voltage stress of only 25% of the output voltage. Experimental results obtained from a 34 V/380 V, 200 W prototype converter validate the proposed concept, adopted design procedure and illustrates the fact that the proposed converter operates at a full load efficiency of 93%. Further, the proposed converter provides better component utilization compared to some existing converters. © 2018 Elsevier Ltd
