Mapping properties of Janowski-type harmonic functions involving Mittag-Leffler function

Frames with a large minimum angle between any two distinct frame vectors are desirable in many present day applications. For a unit norm frame, the absolute value of the cosine of the minimum frame angle is also known as coherence. Two frames are equivalent if one can be obtained from the other via left action of an invertible linear operator. Frame angles can change under the action of a linear operator. Most of the existing works solve different optimization problems to find an optimal linear operator that maximizes the minimal frame angle (in other words, minimizes the coherence). In the present work, nevertheless, we consider the question: Is it always possible to find an equivalent frame with smaller coherence for a given frame?. In this paper, we derive properties of the initial unit norm frame that can ensure an equivalent frame with strictly larger minimal frame angle compared to the initial one. It turns out that the nullspace property of a certain matrix obtained from the initial frame can guarantee such an equivalent frame. We also present the numerical results that support our theoretical claims.

Nullspace Property for Optimality of Minimum Frame Angle Under Invertible Linear Operators

Soil moisture is one of the key components of land surface processes and a potential source of atmospheric predictability that has received little attention in regional scale studies. In this study, an attempt was made to investigate the impact of soil moisture on Indian summer monsoon simulation using a regional model. We conducted seasonal simulations using a regional climate model (RegCM4) for two different years, viz., 2002 (defificit) and 2011 (normal). The model was forced to initialize with the high-resolution satellite-derived soil moisture data obtained from the Climate Change Initiative (CCI) of the European Space Agency (ESA) by replacing the default static soil moisture. Simulated results were validated against high-resolution surface temperature and rainfall analysis datasets from the India Meteorology Department (IMD). Careful examination revealed signifificant advancement in the RegCM4 simulation when initialized with soil moisture data from ESA-CCI despite having regional biases. In general, the model exhibited slightly higher soil moisture than observation, RegCM4 with ESA setup showed lower soil moisture than the default one. Model ability was relatively better in capturing surface temperature distribution when initialized with high-resolution soil moisture data. Rainfall biases over India and homogeneous regions were signifificantly improved with the use of ESA-CCI soil moisture data. Several statistical measures such as temporal correlation, standard deviation, equitable threat score (ETS), etc. were also employed for the assessment. ETS values were found to be better in 2011 and higher in the simulation with the ESA setup. However, RegCM4 was still unable to enhance its ability in simulating temporal variation of rainfall adequately. Although initializing with the soil moisture data from the satellite performed relatively better in a normal monsoon year (2011) but had limitations in simulating different epochs of monsoon in an extreme year (2002). Thus, the study concluded that the simulation of the Indian summer monsoon was improved by using RegCM4 initialized with high-resolution satellite soil moisture data although having limitations in predicting temporal variability. The study suggests that soil moisture initialization has a critical impact on the accurate prediction of atmospheric circulation processes and convective rainfall activity.

In this study, we familiarise a novel class of Janowski-type star-like functions of complex order with regard to -symmetric points based on quantum calculus by subordinating with pedal-shaped regions. We found integral representation theorem and conditions for starlikeness. Furthermore, with regard to -symmetric points, we successfully obtained the coefficient bounds for functions in the newly specified class. We also quantified few applications as special cases which are new (or known).

Certain Class of Analytic Functions with respect to Symmetric Points Defined by Q-Calculus

A mathematical model is presented to explore the SH-wave (horizontally polarized shear wave) propagation in a temperature-dependent viscoelastic medium laid on a vertically heterogeneous elastic half-space. Heterogeneity in the half-space arises due to nth order depth variation in the elastic constants. Bessel's and Whittaker's functions have been used to derive the internal deformations. The expression of the complex frequency equation has been obtained with the aid of suitable boundary conditions. The decomposition of the complex frequency equation into real and imaginary parts provides dispersion and damping equations. These equations exhibited their reliance on the temperature ratio parameter, attenuation coefficient and dissipation factor due to viscoelasticity, heterogeneity and order of heterogeneity function. The impacts of the aforesaid parameters on the propagation of SH-wave have been studied numerically and demonstrated by 2D/3D graphs.

<a href="https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1002/zamm.202000223">Dispersion and attenuation of SH‐waves in a temperature‐dependent Voigt‐type viscoelastic strip over an inhomogeneous half‐space</a>

Intense cyclones have become more frequent over the North Indian Ocean (NIO) region causing significant risk and vulnerability to the coastal regions. Analysis clearly revealed an increasing trend (~ 16.75%) in the intensity of severe cyclonic storms that formed over the NIO during the past 4&nbsp;decades. Power dissipation index (PDI) showed a correlation of 0.58 with severe cyclonic storms during the study period (1979–2019). Study reveals that the genesis location for post-monsoon cyclones is statistically significant against the genesis potential index (GPI) difference, especially for the intense cyclone categories (&gt; 48&nbsp;kt). During the La Niña years, increased tropospheric water vapor content initiates over prominent locations in the Andaman Sea and the North China Sea. Also, La Niña periods showed positional shift in the average genesis location of intense tropical cyclones compared to El Niño periods. Cyclogenesis shift is more concentrated towards the west-equatorward directions over the Bay of Bengal basin. Strong mid-level relative humidity (RH600), positive low-level relative vorticity (RV850), weak vertical wind shear (VWS), warm sea surface temperature (SST), and suppressed outgoing longwave radiation (OLR500) are the responsible factors leading to increased tropical cyclone activity in the NIO. Study signifies that RH600, RV850, and OLR500 are distinct during pre-monsoon seasons of the La Niña epoch, favoring the genesis of severe cyclones over this region. Variables such as SST, wind streamlines (W200, W850), vertical velocity (VV500), and specific humidity (SH500) exhibit comparable contributions towards cyclogenesis during both El Niño and La Niña phases.

Drowsiness Image Detection Using Computer Vision

This research paper studies the impact of thermally radiative 3D viscoelastic nanofluid flow upon a stretchy paper with Newtonian heating. Appropriate similarity variables are used to remodel the governing non-linear PDEs to ODEs and they are analytically solved by adopting the homotopy analysis method (HAM). The disparity of fluid velocities, temperature, nanoparticle volume fraction, skin friction coefficients and local Nusselt number of various parameters is pointed out. It is noticed that, enhancing the Newtonian heating parameter increases the fluid temperature. Also found that the nanoparticle volume fraction enlarges with growing the thermophoresis parameter.

Thermally radiative flow of a viscoelastic nanofluid with Newtonian heating

In the process of a search for new compounds to reduce hyperglycemia by α-amylase and α-glucosidase enzyme inhibition, a series of imidazole appended phenoxyquinoline derivatives were synthesized. Initially, 2-cholo-3-formyl quinoline 3 was treated with various substituted phenol in the presence of K2CO3 in DMF to get 2-phenoxyquinoline-3-carbaldehyde which in turn was treated with o-phenylenediamine to afford the corresponding 3-(1H-benzo[d]imidazol-2-yl)-2-phenoxyquinolines (7a–j). All the synthesized compounds were evaluated for their in vitro and in silico α-amylase and α-glucosidase inhibitory activity using acarbose as a standard. Among the tested compounds, compound 7a was found to exhibit a potent binding affinity; and inhibitory activity (80.90% and 76.26%) with corresponding IC50 values of 104.30 ± 3.31 μmol/mL and 135.67 ± 2.80 μmol/mL toward α-amylase and α-glucosidase, respectively.
