The world is changing at a very fast pace- in terms of culture, education, complexities of societal needs and demands. The educator with his past learning cannot match the expectations of the millennials. The VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity) in Engineering Education has to be observed, studied, analysed and reformed and that too very soon. Higher Education is unable to evolve in pace with the technological developments, global economics, and digital transformations. Global networking has shrunk the world and established inter-connectedness breaking barriers of language, geography, societal cultures, and perceptions. However such rapid changes have not impacted Engineering Education much. Academicians prophecies about attributes that an engineer should possess are turning volatile. This uncertainty leads to unemployed engineers. The chaos has emerged with various levels of complexities. With under-skilled employees, the future of the Engineers and Engineering Education looks bleak and ambiguous. Jack of all trades will have more employable possibilities than the Master of a particular skill. The faculty who teach the 21st Century Learner therefore must make a conscious, intentional choice to enhance his competencies to prepare students for the future. This study emphasizes the need to reawaken our educational policies and teaching-learning pedagogy. Certain learning strategies like flipped learning, project-based learning, problem-based learning will adapt the andragogic method. The teaching trends will be metamorphosed and establish good networking for inter/transdisciplinary research. Case studies and scenario building will churn in opportunities for the students to communicate, collaborate, critically think, and be creative. The empowered faculty will have his multi-skilled students placed well, the student will be industry ready and the industry will have the employee come along with his 21st Century skill set. The beneficiaries: the school, university, teacher now a facilitator, the student and the community at large will build not only a sustainable future but a thriving one too!. © 2020 The Authors. VUCA in engineering education: Enhancement of faculty competency for capacity building

Complex and noisy financial eco-system requires reliable models and proven techniques to predict the market movements and investor decisions. This study uses competent soft computing techniques: rough set theory (RST) and formal concept analysis (FCA) to study the investors' preferences, behavioural drivers and their actual behaviour in Gold-ETF (G-ETF) market. G-ETF, though a safe-haven and an alternate for reducing portfolio risks, inherits all complexities of financial markets. The employed RST helps in generating decision rules; and FCA to identify key factors affecting investment decision. This study is first of its kind, as integration of the foresaid techniques was not employed to study financial behaviour, earlier. The study has analysed 250 responses of G-ETF investors, in 12 listed G-ETFs, to conclude with a rich insight on the investment decisions discretised by different decision rules, strongly recommending the combined use of RST and FCA for data driven decisions. © 2020 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

Application of soft computing techniques 'rough set theory and formal concept analysis' for analysing investment decisions in gold-ETF

We examine the relationships between the banking sector development, insurance market development and economic growth of the Eurozone countries between 1980 and 2015. Using the vector error correction model, the study shows that in the long run, banking sector development and insurance market development have a significant impact on economic growth of European countries. In the short term, we find both unidirectional and bidirectional causality between the three. Based on the empirical findings, a focus must be given to banking sector development and insurance market development in order to create sustained economic growth in an increasingly inter-connected world. © 2018, Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.

Impact of banking sector development on insurance market-growth nexus: the study of Eurozone countries

The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, which originated in the city of Wuhan, China, has quickly spread to various countries, with many cases having been reported worldwide. As of May 8th, 2020, in India, 56,342 positive cases have been reported. India, with a population of more than 1.34 billion—the second largest population in the world—will have difficulty in controlling the transmission of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 among its population. Multiple strategies would be highly necessary to handle the current outbreak; these include computational modeling, statistical tools, and quantitative analyses to control the spread as well as the rapid development of a new treatment. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of India has raised awareness about the recent outbreak and has taken necessary actions to control the spread of COVID-19. The central and state governments are taking several measures and formulating several wartime protocols to achieve this goal. Moreover, the Indian government implemented a 55-days lockdown throughout the country that started on March 25th, 2020, to reduce the transmission of the virus. This outbreak is inextricably linked to the economy of the nation, as it has dramatically impeded industrial sectors because people worldwide are currently cautious about engaging in business in the affected regions. © 2020 Kumar, Kumar, Christopher and Doss.

The rise and impact of COVID-19 in India

The paper assesses conceptually the key role of educational psychology in higher education institutions and industry academia collaboration in India for improving learning and skill upgrade. Applying psychology in school by a professional from educational psychologist a new perspective in India. The success of education system depends significantly on the quality of teachers. The accomplishment of higher education framework relies fundamentally upon the quality of educators. The rising interest for advanced education by virtue of changing demographic profile of the nation and furthermore from the demand from industry for good quality graduate/alumni squeezes teachers to create the ideal outcomes. There are different types of student's problems e.g. lack of social skills and being bullied in higher educational institutions; acting as bully and disturb in the classroom; restlessness and inattention; having self-hurt and suicidal tendency; having low self-confidence; slow learner; having conflict with parents, teachers, management personnel; frustrated about life issues; having adjustment problems in university and college.Nowadays students, teachers and parents have very positive view regarding the psychological services in higher educational institutions. Gradually, Educational Psychologists have already explored the possible roles and scopes in educational institutions in India. So, the stakeholders of higher educational institutions will now hopefully recognise the necessity of Educational Psychologists to contribute in the enhancement of student learning and skills as well as to improve mental health of the learners.The key roles and responsibilities of the educational psychology are to counsel students with emotional, behavioural, learning and disciplinary problems; work with group of students to create awareness about different issues needed for their growing up; consult and counsel teachers and parents; conduct training for educators and parents on learners behavioural and their learning issues; work with administrators to improve the whole institution environment; maintain detail documentation and report writing etc.So as to study the possible role of Educational Psychology in Higher Education Institutions and Industry Academia Collaboration, primary and secondary information was gathered from private and public universities in India. Role of educational psychology in higher education institutions and industry academia collaboration: A new perspective to enhance learning and skills in India

Departments play a crucial role in the performance of effectiveness and performance of departments depends on effectiveness of their manager. This research is an attempt to assess heads of the departments' Emotional Intelligence and its relationship with leadership effectiveness at Chittoor District. Results suggested that the heads interpreted and expressed by both Trust and Organization Citizenship Actions partly mediate the effects of Emotional Intelligence and Leadership. The aim of this study was to analyze the behaviors associated with Emotional Intelligence and Leadership Effectiveness and to decide if there were different dimensions of confidence and OCB predicts both EI and Leadership Effectiveness. It was assumed that there would be a mediating effect of trust and OCB on both EI and LE, as found in previous studies (Konovsky & Pugh, 1994, Podskoff, Mackenzie, Moorman & Fetter, 1990). Non-experimental, quantitative analysis method The Macro SAS model was used to test the hypothesis. Independent variable, emotional intelligence was measured using a self-reported EI scale developed by Wong and Law (2002). The Trust mediator component calculated by the Work Place Trust survey (Adopted) developed by Ferres (2002). The mediator OCB variable was calculated using the OCB (Adopted) checklist developed by Suzy Fox (2011). Non-experimental, quantitative analysis method the model of the Macro SAS was used to test the hypothesis. The results indicated partial mediation in the case of trust and OCB mediating factors. The implications of the study, the limitations of the study and the recommendations for future research are presented. © 2020 by Advance Scientific Research. Emotional intelligence and leadership effectiveness: Mediation effect of trust and organizational citizenship behavior of the middle-level managers in life insurance corporations in Chittoor district -a sequential mediation with two mediators

The present paper attempts to examine the influence of Organizational structure and leadership effectiveness on Organizational Citizenship Behaviour in health and education sectors in India. The researcher in this paper considers the descriptive research methodology wherein a questionnaire based survey instrument is used for the collected of data from the participants of the research. Data is collected from 160 participants (80 from health sector and 80 from education sector) belonging health and education sectors in Chennai, India. Statistical techniques such as descriptive analysis, correlation and regression analysis were performed by the researcher to determine the relationship between variables considered in the research. There is a significant relationship between Organizational Structure, Leadership Effectiveness, and OCB of Indian Health and Education Sector Employees. Furthermore, the findings of the research revealed a positive relationship between the variables considered in the research which is a good sign that there is a need to improve leadership effectiveness and organizational structure of Indian health and educational organizations. However, an extensive research is warranted with additional variables, extensive sample size and different sectors to arrive at better consensus. © 2020 by Advance Scientific Research.

THE IMPACT of ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE and LEADERSHIP EFFECTIVENESS on ORGANIZATIONAL CITIZENSHIP BEHAVIOR - A COMPARATIVE STUDY in INDIAN HEALTH and EDUCATION SECTORS

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to identify and model the key barriers to the issue of adoption and implementation of AACSB accreditation standards in business schools. Business school management can focus on removing the key barriers and implement accreditation standards and practices to improve the quality of programs offered by them. Design/methodology/approach: The present study adopts the interpretive structural modeling (ISM) approach to develop a hierarchical-based model of the key barriers to implementation of Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation standards. It also depicts the mutual relationships among the key barriers. Findings: The paper has identified the key barriers and presented an integrated model using ISM. Business schools need to pay maximum attention to diagnose and overcome these hindrances for effective implementation of AACSB accreditation standards. Research limitations/implications: The model is based on the experts’ opinions, which may be biased, influencing the final output of the structural model. The developed model is to help the business school management in understanding the significance of the barriers, to prioritize or eliminate the same for the implementation of accreditation standards. Originality/value: The depiction of barriers in the form of an ISM-based model is a new effort in the area of business school accreditation. The results will be useful to understand the barriers and overcome these for successful implementation of AACSB accreditation standards in business schools. © 2019, Emerald Publishing Limited.

In this era in which, retaining employees has become more challenging than attracting employees, some organizations, manage to retain their employees at a higher rate, compared to others. It is evident from the working models of the organizations that it is not money that holds the employees in the organizations but the presence of certain non-monetary factors.
