Abstract
This paperpresents the design and analysis of a 1:8 way corporate feeder network at L band. The Wilkinson power divider is used to feed each antenna element of the array and is designed for an elevation taper corresponding to Taylor’s distribution with a Side lobe level of -30dB, The power divider is realized using low cost substrate FR4 (εr = 4.4) with a thickness of H = 1.6 mm. The array excitation coefficients are calculated using Matlab and the power divider (i.e. a 2-way 3-stage) for unequal power division is simulated in AWR Microwave office and later verified by CST studio suite. The input reflection coefficient is less than -10dB and the isolation coefficients are less than -10dB for the specified band with a phase error of ±2° are suitable for L band phased array radar applications. © Research India Publications.
