Z. C. Alex was born in India in 1964. He received the B.Sc. degree in physics and the M.Sc. degree in electronics from Kerala University, Palayam, India, in 1984 and 1986, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from Jamia Millia Islamia Central University, New Delhi, India, in 1996. He is currently a Senior Professor with the Department of Sensor and Biomedical Technology and Director (Sponsored Research), VIT University, Vellore, India. His current research interests include antenna design for UWB applications, RF switching and fabrication of fiber-optic gas sensors.
