Design of band pass filter with circular defected ground structure for UWB application

Abstract
An Ultra wide Band pass filter which operates from 3.45-10.35 GHz is designed and presented. The proposed filter consists of short circuited shunt stubs and circular shaped defected ground structures (CDGS). The CDGS acts as a low pass filter which rejects higher order frequencies whereas the short circuited shunt stubs act as a high pass filter. CDGS also suppresses the harmonic and improves the frequency response characteristics of the filter. © 2014 IEEE.
