In this paper, we have profiled and analyzed the influence of a negative refractive index material on a static magnetic field produced by a circular coil. The field can be controlled in any desired region of the coil by varying the physical parameters of the negative refractive index material. The size, structure and the number of elements play an important role in the magnetic field distribution. The magnetic field vector changes since the permittivity and permeability of the material are negative, which is different from the free space vector. The change in the material characteristics produces some interesting features around the material in the circular loop. These features are profiled by simulations done using finite element analysis software. © 2017 IAMOT.
