Abstract
The paper focuses on the design of metamaterial unit cell and investigates its electromagnetic parameters. In this paper, three substrates are used FR4, Polyimide and Alumina. Metamaterial structure projected on 4.8 × 4.8mm2 for FR4, 4.8 × 4.8mm2 for polymide and 4.1 × 4.1mm2 for alumina. Metamaterial unit cell is designed on a substrate using a computer simulation tool (CST) software for ISM (industrial scientific and medical) band frequencies. The simulation results show that resonant frequency changes with a change in value g (gap), h (height of substrate), c (outer width of SRR), k (inner width of SRR) and d (distance between inner SRR and outer SRR). Also, the results of the real and imaginary values of permittivity and permeability for frequency range 2.5 GHz to 3GHz are observed. The dimensions and scattering parameters of the proposed SRR based metamaterial unit cell are suitable for enhancement of antennas and various microwave applications. © 2019 IEEE.
