Abstract
As stainless steel 316L has chloride resistance and SS430 is used repeatedly in machined parts, we have attempted to investigate the weld ability of bimetallic welds by pulsed current gas tungsten arc welding (PCGTAW) process with filler metals ERNiCu-7 andERNiCr-3.we examine micro structure of the weld region and the heat affected zone (HAZ) of the specimen with the help of optical microscope. Hardness, tensile and impact tests are conducted to study the fracture properties of the specimens. These test also helps to find the performance of both the filler wires by comparing the results: we could use the best filler wire for the desired purpose. © Research India Publications.
