I (Balaji Kumar ) am currently working as Assistant Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering, VIT University, Vellore Campus. Prior to joining VIT Vellore, I worked as a post-doctoral research fellow in an EPSRC-DST funded project at IIT Roorkee. Before starting my post-doctoral research work, I did my Ph. D., under the supervision of Prof. S. Iniyan at Anna University, Chennai, India. During my Ph.D. research, I had an opportunity to work in solar thermal cooling technology. During my Ph.D., I pursued research in Florida Solar Energy Center, USA in the capacity of a BASE research intern under the IUSSTF - DST, Government of India.
While working on different projects, I have gained experience on various techniques such as flat plate collector, air-source heat pump, absorption heat pump, geothermal heat pump, combined power and cooling, and solar still. I am keen to learn newer techniques and would like to apply them for the applications along with my gained knowledge and experience. I am currently working with various international leading institutions, such as the University of Florida, the University of Central Florida, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, USA, University of Bath, UK, and the University of Split Croatia.
