

Senthil Kumaran Selvaraj is currently working as Associate Professor, Department of Manufacturing Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering, Vellore Institute of Technology-VIT University, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. He was previously working as a Head of the Department in Mechanical Engineering and as the Research Director at RVS Educational Trust’s Group of Institutions, Dindigul, Dindigul, India. He has been working for more than 14 years in various Engineering Institutions. He has guided various under-graduate, post-graduate students, and PhD research scholars supervised in quality improvement of the process in a different field such as the design of experiment, friction welding, tribology, non-traditional machining process, and composite materials.
He has completed his research work in Friction welding process improvement at the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, and Tamil Nadu. His research interests in Advance solid-state welding process, Materials and Metallurgy, Composite materials and Quality Management, Unconventional machining process, Optimization, Material characterization and Mechanical Behavior of Material. He has published more than 145 ‘Internationals’ reputed Journals and conferences and he has written 14 different book chapters in the area of Nanotechnology, Nanocosmetics, Corrosion, Total Quality Management and Materials Science. His contribution to the research work is Genetic Algorithm, Acoustic Emission, Artificial Neural networks, fuzzy logic and design of experiment techniques in quality improvement of Manufacturing Process, etc.
He received the best professor award from Lions club in 2017 and achieved an achievement award in 2017 from International Organization of Scientific Research and Development (IOSRD). He has received the Young Scientist Award from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), and New Delhi in 2014. He completed a research project in 2014-2017 under the friction welding of SA 213 tube to SA 387 tube plate using an external tool. Also, he received 37 an outstanding reviewer award and recognized the reviewer award from Elsevier journals. He was a lifetime member of Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE), Indian Welding Society (IWS), International Association of Engineers (IAEng), International Engineering and Technology Institute (IETI), DAAAM International: New Membership, Franklin Membership, International Association of Advanced Materials, World Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology Membership, International Academy for Science & Technology Education and Research (IASTER) and International Research Engineers and Doctors (IRED).
