Dr. K.Uma is working as Professor , Department of Software system engineering , VIT University, Vellore, where she has been since 2016.

She completed Bachelor Degree from Annamalai University in 2006 and Master Degree from PS.G College of Technology, Coimbatore in 2008. she received her Ph.D from College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University in 2016.

Her teaching and research experience stretches for more than 15+ years in prestigious higher educational institutions in India. Her research interests are image Processing , Machine learning, Deep learning, AI , networks, Information Security, and software Testing.

She received Excellence Research Award for outstanding research presentation in VIT University in 2017.

She has published More than 60 research papers in Scopus/Thomson Reuters indexed journal.

She has published 22 International conference papers and 16 conference papers.

She got published two Indian patents. She got funded project along with foreign university professor. She also got consultancy funding projects from various industries.

She has conducted various guest lectures, Expert lectures ,foreign professor lecture and various FDP and industrial visits.
