The aim of the languages division of the SAS is to develop communicative ability and professional skills of B Tech / M Tech / MBA / MCA / LL B students for making successful careers The teaching of English and such other foreign languages as French, German, Spanish and Chinese focuses on the futuristic, value-based education and to enliven the aesthetic perspective of the learners
The hallmarks of the languages division are innovation in methodology and autonomy in approaches The division demands a higher level of expertise in teaching from its faculty and encourages them to go in for Communicative Language Teaching method for imparting the nuances and intricacies of language use Development of critical, analytical and reflective thinking is inculcated in the learners Considering the diverse cultural milieu of our students, the division makes earnest attempts to cater to the needs of each group and attempts at an integrated approach in tune with global standards
The research focus is predominantly in its Ph D Programme in English Language, English Literature, English Language Teaching and Psychology The full-time and part-time scholars of the division are engaged in interdisciplinary research across multifaceted aspects of the language, collaborating with experts in and outside the university The faculty members are encouraged to attend international seminars and workshops in universities around the world and publish research articles in refereed journals
