Abstract
In this research work the hardness property of aluminium alloy (AA2219) is increased by using Titanium dioxide (TiO2) as a reinforcement. Four samples are fabricated by powder metallurgy technique varying reinforcement percentage of addition by weight. SEM and optical microscope testing reveal that TiO2 particles are well dispersed in AA2219 due to the optimum fabrication process. The hardness values of each sample were calculated by performing Micro Vickers hardness test. It's found that up to 10% by weight reinforcement addition improve the hardness property of AA219 which makes it suitable for the various aerospace and industrial application. © 2017 Elsevier Ltd.
