Aluminum alloys are widely used in aerospace and automobile industries owing to their low density, good mechanical properties, better corrosion and wear resistance, low thermal coefficient of expansion as compared to conventional metals and alloys. On viewing from both scientific and technological aspects, their excellent mechanical properties and relatively low production cost makes them a very viable candidate for a variety of applications. In this paper an attempt has been made to provide a literature review on the overall manufacturing techniques of reinforced composites along with the recent techniques employed in the fabrication process and also discusses the influence of process parameters on properties of Aluminium based MMC. © 2015 Journal of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
