Abstract
Floriculture has become one of the important commercial trades in Agriculture due to increase in demand of flower. Floriculture in India is being viewed as a high growth industry. One of the important floriculture crops in the international cut flower trade is rose. Human are involved in the process of rose cultivation, thus they are facing lot of difficulties such as rose thorns keep hurting mostly their hands, their clothes get thorn and they have to keep their posture in bending position facing the ground for the harvesting of flowers which leads them to severe pain in their backbone, leg, and thigh and feet etc. This research work is focused to reduce such problems, an automated robotic system, controlled by PIC controller is proposed to harvest the rose flowers. The flower is identified using camera which is a part of the robotic system and then the identified flower is processed by its color and pattern for the harvesting using Raspberry Pi. The developed rose flower harvesting robot will reduce the process time and increase the productivity by working more hours. © Research India Publications.
