Sivakumar has more than 25 years of experience in business school teaching, research, consulting and executive education. He did his postdoctoral research at Technology University Delft, The Netherlands. He has taught courses as a visiting faculty at Oakland University USA and at the prestigious IIM Bangalore and IIM Vishakhapatnam in addition to National Institute of Agricultural Marketing Jaipur.
He has authored two prize winning cases listed in Ivey Cases collection. Several of his cases are listed in leading case clearing houses like Harvard and Case Centre. He has facilitated several case writing workshops across several business schools in India. He was a participant at the Global Colloquium on Participant centered Learning at Harvard Business School Boston USA in 2015. He was nominated for the outstanding Case Teacher award at the Case Centre. He serves as an Editorial Advisory Board member at South Asian Journal of Business and Management Cases.
He is a seminar and workshop facilitator of AACSB International– a leading global business school accreditation body. He has facilitated through his advice AACSB accreditation across several business schools in India. He was specifically involved in AACSB initial accreditation/CIR at TAPMI which was one of the first AACSB accredited business schools in India and at VIT recently as Coordinator.
He has published a book on Retail Marketing. His research has appeared in journals like Journal of Non-Profit and Public Sector Marketing. He has book chapters, conference presentations and too to his credit. He is the co-author for a Macro Research Project of IIBF on digital banking.
He has served several academic administrative positions including the VIT's Academic Council as a member. In addition, he has in his stint at TAPMI Manipal served in several positions like the Program coordinator for multiple programs and served in committees starting from admissions to alumni.
He has consulted companies in the area of marketing and conducted several executive education programs for executives across sectors like retail, steel, bank, commercial vehicles and agribusiness.
