At present, the scenario of textile industry has been radically changed to use eco-friendly chemicals and enzymes for various wet processing of wool fibres. In general, wool bio-polishing is not so easy because of its complex fibre structure. The wool fibre has about 18 amino acids with the major composition part that contains proteins (97%) and lipids (1%). The wool fibre has some intrinsic properties (due to its morphological and scale structure) that makes wool fibre tendency to felting and shrinkage. Many research works have been carried out on bio-polishing of wool fibres using various enzymes. In this research work, we made an attempt to synthesize keratinase enzymes for polishing of wool fibres. This is because keratinase enzyme has the ability to attack the disulfide (-S-S-) bond in the keratin substrate, so it can be employed for bio-polishing of wool. The keratinase enzymes were produced by taking sheep wool and soil from sheep cattle through various biological processes. The enzymes produced through the mass culture and the enzymatic activity were observed through keratinase activity assay testing. It is reported that the enzyme production is realized better to the source wool fibre and cattle sand taken. The optimized production process may be the better alternative way for bulk production of keratinase enzyme for bio-polishing of wool fibres. © 2019 World Research Association. All rights reserved.

Synthesis of keratinase enzyme from sheep wool for bio-polishing

Electrical discharge machining (EDM) is important unconventional machining process in which utilizes electrical spark energy to remove the material from the workpiece. In such process, the workpiece and tool electrode has to be separated with the constant air gap throughput the machining process for producing the discharge energy. In the present study, an endeavor has been made to automate the flushing mechanism for enhance the machinability by monitoring the gap voltage in EDM process. It has been observed that the proposed approach can reduce the unwanted arcing effect in a considerable way. © 2019 IEEE.

Flushing Pressure Automation for Efficient Machining in EDM Process

Vast growth has been noticed in the current years toward the use of fibres and clothing in the sportswear garment sector. Comfort properties of sports garments has been considered as one of the main function in developing the sports garment Lot of research work and ideas are taken care by garment manufacturers in making sportswear garments. Many more development in fabrics used for making sports garments especially for athletics were taken place in recent years. Mostly knitted fabrics are mainly used to make sportswear garments, which throws more scope of research and development in developing new knitted fabric structure with related high performance fibres New development of knitted fabric using the interlock construction leads to more space of developing knitted fabric with high comfort properties. Interlock fabrics made with separate kind of yarn in face, back and inlay with various structures enhances to produce knitted fabric with more comfort properties in sportswear. Knitted fabric is produced using different face, back and in lay yarn using interlock weft knitted structure has been carried out in this work and also their properties were studied thoroughly. To achieve more comfort and essential properties in weft knitted interlock fabric to suit sportswear, the fabric in this research work has been produced using yarn made up of cotton, polyester and viscose. Various Knitted fabrics has been produced by altering fabric structure, yarn linear density (Yarn count). The properties of fabric have been analyzed with respect to its air permeability, moisture management and thermal conductivity. © BEIESP.

Detailed investigation of weft knitted interlock fabrics for comfort properties to suit for active and sportswear application

The headway in fiber-fortified polymer (FRP) development have an unmistakable interest in executing another kind of strands named as basalt fiber strengthened polymer (BFRP), which has the overwhelming furthest reaches of being disintegration sheltered, solid and financially savvy that convey a prevalent result when connected in solid structure. Also, the available codal arrangement and associates does not give any proposals to the utilization of BFRP bars since fundamental examinations and noteworthy applications are up 'til now limited. The target of our examination was advanced by two stages. The underlying stage was driven by inspecting the properties on BFRP and STEEL bars&amp; these properties were assessed and contrasted and the codal arrangement. Application of spacer fabric on body armour system

In this paper, a new Th4+ ion-selective chromogenic sensor (L) was developed by reacting 1,10-phenanthroline-2,9-dicarbohydrazide with 2-hydroxy naphthaldehyde. The sensing ability of L toward Th4+ was investigated in solution and paper strips loaded with L using spectrophotometric and colorimetric methods. The selective interaction of L was examined with various f-metal ions and other selected metal ions from s-block and d-block elements. Results show that by the colorimetric method in solution-phase dimethyl sulfoxide/H2O (7:3, v/v) and paper strip methods, the naked-eye detectable color change of L occurred from colorless solution to yellow-orange and pale yellow colour upon interacting with Th4+ and Al3+, respectively, whereas other metal ions did not interfere. The ligand L exhibits two absorbance bands at 320 and 375 nm because of ligand-to-ligand charge transfer. Upon interaction with Th4+, L undergoes red shift of both absorption bands and the formation of a new UV-vis band at 335 and 440 nm. The UV-visible spectral studies indicate the formation of a 1:1 host-guest complex between L and Th4+ with an association constant of 4.7 × 103 M-1. The limit of quantification and limit of detection of L for the analysis of Th4+ are found to be 167 and 50 nM, respectively. The visually detectable color change of L has been well integrated with a smartphone RGB color value to make it an analytical signal for real-time analysis of Th4+ with the detection limit down to 116 nM. Besides, L was applied for the analysis of Th4+ content present in various real water samples, monazite, and lantern mantle samples by spectrophotometry and RGB color values. The binding mode of L with Th4+ is investigated by 1H NMR, electrospray ionization-mass, and theoretical studies. Copyright © 2018 American Chemical Society.

Sericin coating is applied on a polyester woven fabric meant for wound healing purpose. The sericin is extracted from the waste silk through water extraction process. Polyester woven fabric was selected to apply sericin coating due to its durability. Hydroxyl groups were incorporated to modify polyester fabric for improving the absorption rate. Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) was used as a cross linking agent to attach sericin to alkali modified PET. Sericin coated polyester samples were subjected to various tests such as thickness, weight, vertical wicking, air permeability, water drop, bending length, anti-static and anti-microbial tests. The coating was confirmed by increase in weight of the polyester sample. The wickability has no remarkable effect on the coated sample. The bending length of coated sample was reduced than the uncoated sample. The absorbency of the coated fabric was improved significantly than the uncoated one. The anti-microbial effect of the coated layer was confirmed through the agar well diffusion test. © 2018 Trademill Technologies Private Limited. All rights reserved.
