Abstract
In this paper, Zn alloyed SnO2 nanomaterials are used for humidity sensing applications which have been synthesized by aqueous precipitation method. In SnO2 nanomaterial, Zn concentration has been varied in the range 0-25 at.%. The structural and morphological studies of the obtained nanomaterials are performed using X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. It is observed that the conductivity of Zn alloyed SnO2 nanomaterials increases with an increase in the relative humidity (RH). The sensitivity is found to be enhanced with increase in Zn concentration. The maximum sensitivity of 0.078 MΩ/% RH has been attained for 25% Zn alloyed SnO2 based sensors. Response and recovery times are high for Zn alloyed SnO2 based sensors in comparison to the pure SnO2. Copyright © 2017 American Scientific Publishers All rights reserved.
