Dr. Atul Kumar is currently serving the School of Mechanical Engineering, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, India as an Assistant Professor SG. His previous assignment was as a Post-Doctoral Researcher in national mission project entitled “LCF of cast 625 superalloy for turbine casing and forged 617 superalloys for rotor applications” sponsored by Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam, at Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. He graduated from RGPV University Bhopal in Mechanical Engineering discipline and completed his Master’s from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur (NIT Nagpur). He obtained his doctorate degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) India. His field of research mainly includes additive manufacturing, friction stir welding/processing, composited development, structure-property correlation, material processing and characterization. He has delivered invited lectures, chaired scientific sessions at several national and international conferences and Faculty development programs.
