Dr. M. Jagannath is an Associate Professor Senior in the School of Electronics Engineering at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Chennai, India. Prior to joining VIT, he was heading the Department of Biomedical Engineering at SMK Fomra Institute of Technology, Chennai, India. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in the year 2012. He has served the position of Senior Project Officer at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, India. He has 6 years of research experience and around 9 years of teaching experience.
His expertise in simulation, biological data acquisition, and processing and applying it in many other projects had successfully led him toward completion of the projects along with recognition by receiving awards. He received Best Academic Researcher of the Year 2017 from the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of India. He is the recipient of Best Circuit Faculty of the Year 2017 from the South Indian Association of Scientists, Developers, and Faculties Award. He has been conferred Young Faculty Award (Specialization in Biomedical Engineering) for the year 2016 from the Venus International Foundation, Chennai. He received Indira Gandhi Sadbhavna Gold Medal Award for Individual Achievement and Service to the Nation from the Global Economic Progress and Research Association, India, 2014. He won the Technical Icon of the Year 2012 Award from the IET, YPSC, UK. and the Best Teacher Award from Sri Sai Ram Engineering College affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. He received Half Time Research Associate (HTRA) Fellowship from IIT Madras during July 2007-December 2011.
His research interest includes sleep research, music research, ergonomics, biomedical instrumentation systems, biomechanics, control systems, mechatronic systems, and robotics.
