Hand gesture recognition is one of the significant research domains in the computer science field to which people have paid attention in the past decade. It has been considered as a highly successful technology, where it saves time to unlock any device and provide high stability with an increased accuracy rate. It provides a simple interface for humans to communicate with machines. This paper describes an external hardware-independent system which can control electrical appliances using hand gesture and voice control. We will be using a subpart of this field which is measuring the distance of relative hand movement with respect to the sensors used. The system uses a distance-measuring technique to provide certain functionalities to external hardware. The relative hand movement is recognized using ultrasonic sensors and voice pattern is recognized using analog to digital converter. The hardware part of the ultrasonic sensor is interfaced with Arduino. After getting the sound speed (sonic speed) and time between emission and reception, the distance can be calculated and provide necessary functionalities. In Voice Control Google Speech Recognition is used to convert speech to text and provide the desired functionalities. Relative Hand Movement and Voice Control Based Home Automation and PC

In this work a security API is proposed which can be customized and used by application developers to include a higher level of security in their application. The objective is to make developers create secure applications without concerning much into the core security aspects such as the mechanism, algorithm and reliability of the security protocols used in it. This API is capable of providing an end-to-end encryption when used for communication and also considered as a provider of Security as a Service. It uses an improved Steganography algorithm based on LSB and Complement Image rotation. The core functions are developed using PHP and an API is created for external applications to make API calls, so that the SaaS can be accessed by authorized applications. It is platform-independent, meaning it is not designed to serve just one type of client application (in terms of programming language), it can be accessed by different types of apps. The data is encrypted (if necessary) using a random key and converted into binary format and embedded into a 24-bit RGB cover image. The data is secured in the image which creates no suspicion and provides invisibility, and proven to be secure by performing benchmark tests by comparing stegoimages provided by different algorithms and also resisted statistical and visual attacks. © 2019, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Personalized Secured API for Application Developer

In smart villages, access to sustainable energy services acts as a catalyst for development. Enabling facility of internet connection for the new possibilities of increasing agricultural cultivation with proper information and guidance, access to clean water, sanitation and nutrition, the growth of productive enterprises to boost farmer's income. The development of a country depends on the village's development. Most of the agriculture productivity suffer greatly with unforeseen change in climate. Therefore, farmers need to get appropriate information's if any sudden climatic disruption occur, it should notify on time to avoid any major damage in agricultural field. As part of the smart village concept, an intelligent system is designed that may help a farmer to get basic facilities/infrastructure by agricultural development. Here an intelligent system is proposed on the fact of farmers getting all relevant details about the improvement in fertilization of soil and agriculture by delivering climate change information's through an IoT (Internet of Things) devices. These information's could be handled through website and mobile phones. To ease for farmer understandings all the facts and information related to soil fertilization and climatic alerts are delivered as per their native language/language of their interest. This system may help its members to collaborate and take it to another level of requirement in improving their production capacity. These IoT devices are operated either through solar panel or electric supply appropriately to balance the power requirement across the field. © 2019 IEEE.

Smart Village: Solar Based Smart Agriculture with IoT Enabled for Climatic Change and Fertilization of Soil

The distributed generation in smart grids has become highly prevalent due to its inherent characteristics like robust, reachable, lossless and emission less. The increased usage of sensor devices, wireless and network communication, cloud computing and IoT (Internet of things) explores the merge of smartness in energy field which results in an extensive collection of data getting populated in the electricity sector. This paper proposes a hybrid machine learning with big data analytic techniques for optimized distribution of available energy resources targeting smart energy management. The system aims in handling smart energy management using the data received from conventional sources and various distributed generation sources like photovoltaic, wind, small hydro and biomass. For unsupervised power data an efficient clustering methodology such as grid based clustering has been incorporated for optimal distribution of energy received from the nodal and zone regions. For structured power data, support vector machine algorithm of supervised learning is used for smart distribution which performs classification and regression of the vast electricity data. Regressive analysis over electricity data across the country with respect to various regions is carried out to understand the energy consumption which gives the insight of energy deficit. Thus the machine learning hybrid techniques were performed over the collected data to validate the smart distribution and the result obtained ensures a substantial gain which leads to conservation of generated energy through smart energy management. © 2019 Procedia Computer Science. A hybrid technique of machine learning and data analytics for optimized distribution of renewable energy resources targeting smart energy management

The primary objective of the work is to develop a simulation which changes its environment based on the outside environment. This is done by getting the input from the sensors and sending it to the cloud platform and then getting the sensor data into the simulation and changing the environment of it.The aim of the work is to design an embedded device which could collect sensor values of environment defining variables like pressure, temperature, altitude and amount of light and use it accordingly to change the environment of the simulation. This was achieved by constructing embedded device which relies on sensors to transmit the reading of environment defining factors to a cloud services provided by Thinkspeak platform. These reading are archived and can be accessed by the android application to change its environment.

Real Time Environment Simulation through Virtual Reality

The current Indian population is 1.29 billion out of which the occurrence of cancer is estimated to be around 2.6 million with over 9,00,000 new cancer patient and 6,50,000 cancer related deaths occurring every year. About 70% to 80% of the current patient diagnosed in advanced stage accounting without proper medications.More than 7% of deaths in India are due to various types of cancers which contribute to 8% to 10% of global cancer mortality. To lead a step to reduce this rate, this work aims to design a nanobot (nano robot) which can effectively identify the cancer growth using the concept called Positron Emission Tomography that comes under the branch of Acoustic Bio-Signalling.The simulation of the robot will be presented through "robot simulation software" where the tracking is done through embedded programming, so as to configure its movement and requirements through every cycle of "change of state".A prototype of the Nanobot is constructed through hardware with the help of robot-specific apparatus and with the same norms of a line follower robot. © 2018 The Authors. Cancer Detecting Nanobot using Positron Emission Tomography

The objective of the research paper is to capture the design a Vehicle Number Plate Identification System which can be used to identify and read the license number of any vehicle. The basic process involves taking the image of the front/rear of the vehicle which then gets processed and ultimately the number gets displayed on the LCD. This system can be used for a wide variety of installations and establishments such as entry points of schools, colleges, offices and parking spaces. The camera takes an image which is then processed in PC. The result achieved from this is the license number of the vehicle which is then transmitted via the Wi-Fi module and ultimately displayed on the LCD. The hardware especially can be made more rugged and compact so as to handle all the elements of nature and various environments that it can be used in.

IoT Driven Vehicle License Plate Extraction Approach

Objective: The prospective need of SIMD (Single Instruction and Multiple Data) applications like video and image processing in single system requires greater flexibility in computation to deliver high quality real time data. This paper performs an analysis of FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) based high performance Reconfigurable OpenRISC1200 (ROR) soft-core processor for SIMD.Methods: The ROR1200 ensures performance improvement by data level parallelism executing SIMD instruction simultaneously in HPRC (High Performance Reconfigurable Computing) at reduced resource utilization through RRF (Reconfigurable Register File) with multiple core functionalities. This work aims at analyzing the functionality of the reconfigurable architecture, by illustrating the implementation of two different image processing operations such as image convolution and image quality improvement. The MAC (Multiply-Accumulate) unit of ROR1200 used to perform image convolution and execution unit with HPRC is used for image quality improvement.Result: With parallel execution in multi-core, the proposed processor improves image quality by doubling the frame rate up-to 60 fps (frames per second) with peak power consumption of 400mWatt. Thus the processor gives a significant computational cost of 12ms with a refresh rate of 60Hz and 1.29ns of MAC critical path delay.Conclusion:This FPGA based processor becomes a feasible solution for portable embedded SIMD based applications which need high performance at reduced power consumptions

RECONFIGURABLE FPGA BASED SOFT-CORE PROCESSOR FOR SIMD APPLICATIONS

In any heterogeneous system, porting reconfigurable computing is often a high performance platform for a broad range of computationally challenging issues. However, efficiently utilizing the maximum potential of these reconfigurable systems is a difficult job without understanding their performance characteristics. This work proposes an analytic performance model using Petri Nets (PN) for a Reconfigurable OR1200 (ROR1200) soft-core processor with model validation and verifications. By modeling the ROR1200 system using Petri Nets, both behavioral and structural properties existing in parallel systems were analyzed. The Bound Level Analysis with respect to the dependency level of data is also performed on Soft Core Processors (SCP) like the ROR1200, the OR1200 and the MicroBlaze. © IJTech 2016.

Petri Net-based System Modelling for Performance Analysis of Reconfigurable Soft-core Processor using FPGA

The most critical part in any multi-media application is focused with processing of real time data. Many commercial soft core processors gain its role in these multimedia applications supporting those needs with improved performance. To fill the gap between the various commercial soft-core processor and open core processor, this paper proposed the inclusion of global hazard controller in reconfigurable OR1200(Open RISC 1200) soft-core processor, to meet the performance for the improved quality of multimedia application such as telemedicine field. The functionality of any reconfigurable unit in the processor mostly incorporated in the execution stage of the pipeline unit. This reconfigurable unit often resulted into frequent occurrence of hazards in the pipeline. Due to these hazards, the execution speed of reconfigurable unit becomes slower than the other fixed functional unit in the processor. To improve the performance of soft core, a separate hazard controller unit is added into the core to handle hazards in the pipeline unit of OR1200. The performance analysis of implementation of global hazard controller unit in OR1200 infers that the overall speedup of the processor is further increased by 2.18 times than existing OR1200. © 2015 Academic Publications, Ltd.
