Dr. B. Rushi Kumar is presently working as an Associate professor of Mathematics in Fluid Dynamics Division, School of Advanced Sciences, VIT University, Vellore, India. Dr. Rushi Kumar obtained his PhD degree in Mathematics in the area of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, India in 2008. He also did his Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Mathematics from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, India.

His research interests are Fluid Dynamics, Porous Media, Magnetohydrodynamics, Heat and Mass Transfer, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Mathematical Biology, Numerical Methods and Differential equations. Dr. Rushi Kumar has published 56 refereed research papers so far in various national, international journals and conferences. He has received research publications awards from VIT University in 2011, 2012,2013,2014, 2015 for his research publications.

He is acclaimed in the academic circles for his erudition in the field of mathematics.He guided two Ph.D students and presently six students are doing Ph.D under his guidance. In addition to teaching and research, he is an actively involved in various administrative responsibilities to organize Conferences and workshops. Presently he is the Time table Coordinator for Mathematics Division of SAS School and Project Based Learning coordinator for the subject Differential and Difference Equations.

Dr. Rushi Kumar was nominated by DST, India as Host Scientist for prestigious CV Raman Fellowship for African Researchers. DST ,India Nominated him as an Indian expert to deliver an invited talk in International conference on applications of Fluid Dynamics(ICAFD-2012) which is held at University of Botswana ,Gabrone,during Sep2012. He also given invited talk in National conference on Application of Mathematics in Engineering, Physical and Life sciences held at SV University Tirupati, Dec2012. He also won the prestigious Royal Society commonwealth follow-on grants to have a research collaboration with the University of West Indies. He visited the University of Arkansas , USA and University of West Indies during May -June 2016 under Royal Society grants. Dr. Kumar delivered many guest lectures and Invited talks in national and International conferences and workshops/ seminars.

Dr. Rushi Kumar is a member of Indian Mathematical Socity (IMS) and is associated with other professional bodies including AMS, APSMS, ISTAM, IAPS, IEEE, and ISTE. He is a reviewer for many reputed international journals and conferences. He is the editorial board member for several international journals.
