With the continuous increase of web applications and services, web usage data have been overloaded and handling that dynamic web information is very challenging task. Personalized web recommender systems are evolving to provide better and tailored experiences for online users than ever before. The personalization technique is carried out for the each individual user by considering their interests and search behavior stored in the web server access logs. Recently a variety of recommendation systems to predict user future request has been proposed, but the quality of these system results only low prediction accuracy. Hence this paper presents a new framework for effective recommendation system to reduce the searching time of the user and to reach the user’s future intention (request) webpage with the improved prediction accuracy by integrating fuzzy c-means clustering and variable order markov model recommendation system. Experimental setups are carried out initially by applying preprocessing technique on the web log followed by fuzzy c-means clustering process to identify the similarity patterns. Finally web page recommendation is performed using variable order markov model to predict the user’s next web page access by reducing the search time and better prediction accuracy. © 2018 Taiwan Academic Network Management Committee. An approach to webpage prediction method using variable order markov model in recommendation systems

The information technology revolution has brought drastic change in the way data is collected or generated for decision mining. The accumulated data has no relevance unless it provides certain useful information pertaining to the interest of an organization. The real challenge lies in converting high dimensional data into knowledge and to use this knowledge for the development of the organization. On the other hand, hiding an organization’s sensitive information is a major concern. Much research has been carried out in this direction. This chapter discusses various privacy preservation techniques that can be employed in an information system to safeguard the sensitive information of an organization. This chapter also highlights sensitive fuzzy association rules that can be generated from an information system. The traditional system of selecting courses to carry out research work is time consuming, risky and a tedious task, that not only badly affect the performance but the learning experience of a researcher as well. Therefore, choosing appropriate courses in seminal years could help to do research in a better way. This Study presents a recommender system that will suggest and guide a learner in selecting the courses as per their requirement. The Hybrid methodology has been used along with ontology to retrieve useful information and make accurate recommendations. Such an approach may be helpful to learners to increase their performance and improve their satisfaction level as well. PCRS: Personalized Course Recommender System Based on Hybrid Approach

Temporal video segmentation is the primary step of content based video retrieval. The whole processes of video management are coming under the focus of content based video retrieval, which includes, video indexing, video retrieval, and video summarization etc. In this paper, we proposed a computationally efficient and discriminating shot boundary detection method, which uses a local feature descriptor named local Contrast and Ordering (LCO) for feature extraction. The results of the experiments, which are conducted on the video dataset TRECVid, analyzed and compared with some existing shot boundary detection methods. The proposed method has given a promising result, even in the cases of illumination changes, rotated images etc.

In this case study we will analyse a smart parking system based on IOT that allows a person to know the nearest parking area and parking slot availability in that area. The developed parking system should be cost efficient and the process should focus on reducing the amount of time taken by the vehicle to find a parking area. This paper presents the design and implementation of an IoT-based smart home intelligent system for monitoring the electrical energy consumption based upon the real time tracking of the devices at home. The proposed outcome of this paper aims at multiple benefits of saving on electricity bills of the home as well as keeps the users updated about their home security with an option of controlling the switching of the devices by using their simple toggle touch. Finally, this paper reduces electrical energy consumption. Smart home environments integrate multiple IoT devices and services that collect method and exchange information. They supply users many prospects to manage and adapt the standing of their home manually. For the detection of the human, PIR Sensor is used and for the security purpose, Gas Sensor is used in this paper. The main purpose of the Gas sensor is to detect the strong smells such as LPG, Hydrogen, Propane, Smoke, etc. In this model we have proposed an Ethernet based system that let users monitor real time switching information of the electrical devices and controlling them through an webpage as well as monitoring the security of their homes in case of unwanted entry . Our model uses gas sensor to check for gas leak at the users home, PIR motion sensors to check for the unwanted presence at their homes and also monitor and control the real time tracking and switching of all their electrical devices through an webpage. © 2018 IAEME Publication. Smart home observing and control security system: A case study

This article describes how with a non-formal education, a scholar has to choose courses among various domains to meet the research aims. In spite of this, the availability of large number of courses, makes the process of selecting the appropriate course a tedious, time-consuming, and risky decision, and the course selection will directly affect the performance of a scholar. The best approach to solve such problems and to produce desirable results is to use a “recommendation system.” Recommender systems at the core employ information retrieval techniques and the ongoing effort of such information retrieval systems is to deliver the most relevant information to the learner. Therefore, if a recommender system is able to recognize the intent and requirements that a user express in the form of queries, it can generate more valid recommendations. This article presents an N-Gram classification technique which can be used to generate course recommendations to scholars depend on the requirements and domain of interest. This way of personalization can improve the quality of research and learning experience by recommending courses which are otherwise overlooked by scholars, as it takes the time to go through the curriculum and finding the best possible match.
