Socialization is a lifelong process of learning that influences an individual’s attitude, behavior, and values. The term “cultural socialization" specifically refers to the learning mechanism by which young adults attain cultural maturity by acquiring awareness of their cultural group values, resulting in the development of a sense of belonging toward that particular cultural group. Family as an agent of socialization plays a crucial role in imparting cultural traits and values to its members, which varies from one family to another due to cultural diversity and social change. The significant influence of peer groups, in addition to family, as a socializing entity adds complexity to this learning system and makes it a potential source for creating distinctions and fostering the development of superiority and inferiority complexes among the members. Young adults who experience socialization from both entities encounter a chaotic state of mind that impacts their behavior and academic performance. Hence, this study seeks to comprehend the significance of cultural socialization in the development of prosocial behavior and academic achievement within diverse cultural contexts, such as educational institutions. The study adopted a quantitative methodology with simple random sampling administered through a questionnaire. The findings show that cultural socialization has a potential influence on academic performance and prosocial behavior. Thus, cultural socialization serves as a catalyst for enhancing prosocial behavior, subsequently leading to better academic performance.

The effect of cultural socialization on the development of prosocial behavior and academic performance in young adults

This article aims to investigate the influence of self-perception, self-regulation and motivation on the social awareness and social skills of university students. While Emotional Intelligence is a concept extensively researched in psychology with a substantial body of literature, there is limited empirical data connecting the constructs of self to the social constructs in Emotional Intelligence. The research recognizes the significance of understanding how these intrapersonal and interpersonal factors contribute to the development of social competence in the academic environment. A quantitative survey was used to explore the relationship between these. The sample comprised undergraduate students from diverse academic disciplines, and data were collected through validated self-report questionnaires. The findings underscore the importance of integrating targeted interventions and educational strategies that promote the development of these attributes to enhance students' overall social competence. By fostering a greater understanding of these dynamics, universities can better equip their students with the social skills necessary for successful interpersonal interactions, personal growth, and future professional success.&nbsp;Keywords: Emotional Intelligence; Social Skills; University Students; Emotional Wellbeing; Self-Awareness.&nbsp;

Understanding the Relationship Between Self Referential and Socially Oriented Emotional Intelligence Constructs: A Cross-sectional Study

The development of publications on emotional intelligence and its impact on strategic leadership from 2013–2023 are the focus of the current study. The number of publications narrowed down by adopting the SALSA method and used in the analysis was 383. It is evident from the analysis that there has been a significant increase in the number of publications addressing emotional intelligence and leadership in the past decade. Bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer resulted in the co-occurrence network of 31 items categorized into 8 clusters based on keywords, each highlighted by a different color. The extensive connections that emotional intelligence has with leadership are observed through networks, overlays and visualizations. This analysis helps us understand the current knowledge, identify research gaps, and guide future investigations. It also highlights emerging themes in emotional intelligence and strategic leadership, supporting informed decisions for leadership development and organizational success. The implications derived from enhancing emotional intelligence include improvements in communication, learning, problem- solving, and trust, which ultimately maximize strategic leadership in individuals.

Maternal health outcomes are profoundly influenced by socioeconomic determinants, posing significant challenges to achieving equitable care for pregnant women worldwide. This research examines the impact of socioeconomic factors on maternal health, aiming to assess the extent of inequality among expectant mothers. Employing diverse research methodologies and data analysis techniques, this study investigates the multifaceted relationship between socioeconomic status and maternal health outcomes. Findings reveal distinct disparities in access to healthcare, influenced by income, education, employment and housing conditions. These disparities contribute to varying maternal health outcomes, emphasizing the critical need for targeted interventions. The study recommends tailored strategies, encompassing improved healthcare access, educational initiatives, workplace support and policy enhancements to address socioeconomic inequalities in maternal health effectively. Examining socioeconomic factors influencing maternal health in pregnancy

The systematic process of all academic, educational and research institutes have collapsed by the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic in recent years. The traditional practices of teaching learning process have been challenged and it has become a necessity for all educators to equip themselves to suitable viable technologies. Therefore, it is significant that every educator takes necessary actions to impart education in the suitable ways to meet our students’ needs and requirements. The current work aims to detail the various causes and its impact of COVID-19 among the students pursuing their higher education. The focus is to plan and create a digital educational module by receiving feedbacks from the focus group using a structured questionnaire. The outcomes will be compiled as graphs and discussions, arriving at a model which would suit the needs and requirements of the higher education students. Impact of E-Learning Among Students Pursuing Higher Education Due to COVID-19: An Exploratory Study

It is now established that metastable colloidal nanoparticles (NPs) are subjected to interactions with proteins in biological media leading to the formation of a protein corona on the NPs. The physiochemical and biological activity of the NPs is further determined by the bio-nano interface. However, in a realistic biosystem, multiple layers of interaction that the NPs may encounter even after protein coronation are generally overlooked. In the present study, carboxy and amine-functionalized CdSe quantum dots (QDs) were utilized as the primary NPs for protein corona formation using fetal calf serum. The quantitative and the qualitative aspects of the protein corona varying with respect to the surface functionalization of the QDs were analyzed. A second layer of complexity was added in the experimental setup by interacting the coronated-QDs with nanoplastics as a major pollutant source. The colloidal stability and the physiochemical parameters of the coronated-QDs in the presence of three differently functionalized polystyrene beads (plain, aminated, and carboxylated) were assessed using transmission electron microscopy, dynamic light scattering, and zeta-potential measurements. A complex interplay of interactive forces and direct bonding of amino acids with the benzene ring of the PS-beads led to the development of a coronated-QD-PS complex in the size range of 400 nm. To assess the overall protein leaching, the coronated-QD-PS complex was further subjected to different pH-triggers. Atomic absorption spectroscopy was used to analyze the combinatorial effect of the protein corona and the PS-beads on the Cd2+ ion release from the QDs. The novel approach of the study aims to include the complexities of a realistic reaction milieu wherein NP interactions are not just limited to proteins. © 2021 The Royal Society of Chemistry and the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique.

Exploring the interactions between protein coronated CdSe quantum dots and nanoplastics

Introduction: Diabetes is a global health concern and also a major contributor to mortality in most developing countries. People usually choose the best available option to derive maximum satisfaction from healthcare services. Based on this the present study has been done to the factors influencing the choice of healthcare services of diabetic patients. Objective: The main aim of this study is to analyse the factors determining the diabetic patient’s choice of healthcare services. Methods: To analyse the socio-economic factors determining the diabetic patient’s choice of healthcare services, a binary logistic regression model was used. Results: Factors such as age, education, gender, monthly income and treatment cost were found to be the determinants. Peo-ple’s choice of health care services was not identical and needs to be improved. At .000 p – valve treatment cost had a significant impact on healthcare choice. Conclusion: The study suggests that increasing formal education on patients with diabetes would help them in choosing the appropriate healthcare services and they would be able to afford healthcare charges on their own. © IJCRR.

Role of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Rural Development

There is an increasing presence of ‘femvertising’ in the media; an advertising style that highlights women’s talents, centers themes on pro-woman messaging and counters stereotyping. However, no systematic attempt has been made to establish the reasons leading to its increasing social acceptance. This article identifies the major factors leading to femvertising: (1) growing activism around the better representation of women in advertising; (2) brand activism and conscious capitalism; (3) the criticism of corporate and commodity feminism; (4) increasing awareness of gender stereotyping; (5) and increasing scrutiny by regulatory bodies on gender role representations in advertising. We conclude that femvertising is a phenomenon resulting from the combined effect of the five factors above. We propose that future studies in femvertising should address the remaining issues of lack of authenticity, dilution of feminist discourse, interconnection with social movements as well as linkages to increased representation of women in advertising, both to construct a full picture of the current state of femvertising and to understand its future configuration in a shifting social and ideological environment. © 2020 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Feminism in advertising: irony or revolution? A critical review of femvertising

Advertisement plays an essential role in changing the consumer behavior towards a particular product. This study is conducted to explore the collision of environmental and emotional response on consumer buying behavior. Advertisement reminds its impact on consumer mind which attracts them to buy that particular product. The responses of 200 respondents are gathered from different universities of Faisalabad region of Pakistan through a circulated well-structured questionnaire. Multiple regression technique is used as a statistical tool and empirical results reveal that emotional response play positive and significant role to influence the consumer buying behavior. On the other hand, negative and significant role of environmental response has been seen in determining the consumer buying behavior.
