Feature extraction involves feature detection, description and matching which is the baseline of many computer vision applications like content based image retrieval, image classification, image recognition, object detection etc. Features detected should have greater repeatability and should be able to derive descriptors out of it that are highly distinctive and robust to changes in scale, orientation, rotation, illumination etc. This paper provides an insight about the performance comparison of the long existing SIFT and SURF descriptors. The evaluation is carried out in an experimental setup of object category detection which uses a SVM classifier to detect the category. © BEIESP.

Performance comparison of various feature descriptors in object category detection application using SVM classifier

Achieving secured data transmission is not always an easy job. Secret data sharing requires confidentiality and Undetectability. Steganography is preferred than cryptography to achieve undetectability. Steganography hides the secret data inside the other file such as text, audio, video, so that the existence of the secret data is completely hidden. Recent research focuses much on utilizing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calls as a carrier for data hiding. VoIP calls are much preferred among internet users for its wide availability, dynamic time limit and low cost. This paper focuses on data hiding methods that uses VoIP as a carrier. A TRUSTED DATABASE ON ENQUIPMENT WITH PROTECTION AND INFORMATION PRIVACY

The transportation of hot metal from blast furnaces to melting shops is carried out by molten steel transfer vehicle such as Torpedo ladle car in the steel plants. In need to design Torpedo ladle car within size limitation, capacity requirement and withstanding the impact, static, thermal shock and abrasion conditions, structural analysis is essential for validation. In this paper, stress and model analysis for upper and lower bolsters of Torpedo Ladle Car is carried out. The components are modelled in CAD and analysed using finite element method using software with the required boundary conditions. The results of structural analysis of bolster components are presented and discussed. The results shows that the deflection at the centre of upper and lower bolster was due to bending and applied load. The modal analysis predicted the natural frequencies by using block lanczos method. © 2019 SAE International. All Rights Reserved.

Stress and Model Analysis of Upper and Lower Bolster Components of Molten Steel Transfer Vehicle

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are used in the design of Internet of Things (IoT) for sensing the environment, collecting the data and to send them to the base station and the locations used for analysis. In WSNs for IoT, intelligent routing is an important phenomena that is necessary to enhance the Quality of Service (QoS) in the network. Moreover, the energy required for communication in the IoT based sensor networks is an important challenge to avoid immense packet loss or packet drop, fast energy depletion and unfairness across the network leading to reduction in node performance and increase in delay with respect to packet delivery. Hence, there is an extreme need to check energy usage by the nodes in order to enhance the overall network performance through the application of intelligent machine learning techniques for making effective routing decisions. Many approaches are already available in the literature on energy efficient routing for WSNs. However, they must be enhanced to suite the WSN in IoT environment. Therefore, a new Neuro-Fuzzy Rule Based Cluster Formation and Routing Protocol for performing efficient routing in IoT based WSNs. From the experiments conducted in this research work using the proposed model, it is proved that the proposed routing algorithm provided better network performance in terms of the metrics namely energy utilization, packet delivery ratio, delay and network lifetime. © 2019 Elsevier B.V.

Second-order nonlinear optical properties of eight-membered centrosymmetric cyclic borasiloxanes

Nowadays, medical applications need a lot of storage for storing and providing access to the medical information seekers. Moreover in medical applications, information grows tremendously and hence they must be stored using a suitable storage structure so that it is possible to retrieve them faster from the text corpus in which the medical information is stored. The existing methods for storage and retrieval do not focus on classified organization. However, classified data storage will facilitate fast retrieval. Therefore, a new Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) based topic modeling approach is proposed in this paper which uses temporal rules for effective manipulation of stored data. Therefore, a temporal rule based classification algorithm is proposed in this work by combining Naïve Bayes Classifier with LDA and temporal rules to store the data more efficiently and it helps to retrieve the documents faster. From the experiments conducted in this work by storing and retrieving medical data in a corpus, it is proved that the proposed model is more efficient with respect to classification accuracy leading to organized storage and fast retrieval. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2019.

Classification of Medical Dataset Along with Topic Modeling Using LDA

Failure of implants is a serious concern in the orthopedic field, due to loosening of the parts or biofilm formation. This leads to secondary surgery increasing the cost for the patients. The analysis of the ability of the implants to be resistant to infection or susceptible to biofilm growth before implantation could minimize this issue. The aim of this study is to investigate the ability to form biofilm on composite scaffolds, made up of polymer and calcium phosphates. The growth and proliferation of the microorganisms was evaluated quantitatively for biofilm formation by MTT assay and viable cell count (VCC) by vortexing. The surface colony morphology of biofilm on scaffold was observed using scanning electron microscopy. Biofilm formation was significantly higher on BG5 (p<0.05) as measured by MTT assay. But no profound difference was observed by viable cell count. Colony morphology analysis also showed a dense layer of biofilm on BG5, whereas only microcolonies were formed on other samples. BG5 is relatively more susceptible to biofilm formation compared to other compositions. This study also highlights the use of MTT assay for effective quantification of biofilm in scaffolds. © 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
